In Chicago, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. BYOB is common at smaller restaurants in some states, with a modest corkage fee or none at all; the listing or a quick call will tell you. Wing-and-pizza shops across Illinois do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.
Hours are published for 1 day a week. On most of those days it is open 9 AMβ3 PM. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. I heard so much about this place, so I had to try it and Iβm really glad I got there on a slow day. They have a small menu but each item is flavor-packed. Iβm not sure, but I feel as though they will run out of things on busy days. I really liked my quiche and they have free water outside for everyone. They have a cute little garden area to eat at and dogs are welcome to be there too. The raspberry rhubarb pie was a surprise, as itβs usually strawberry, but a delight. Prices are super fair for a small food business. The food also came out pretty quick. I will go back again. I really want to try everything on their menu at least once!

Came here on a Saturday morning around 9:30am. There was a line when we got here that was out the door. It is really small inside and no space for a line so the line was relatively short and took about 7 minutes to get through. We ordered (there were three of us), got a seat inside which seemed unlikely while we were waiting in line but people come and go here which helps with turnover for tables. They also have a few picnic tables outside. They deliver the food to your table but there is no table service, you must order at the counter. They also do not have sparkling water, or didnβt that day, and no coffee refills, and if they do they do not tell you. This place is famous for pies and biscuits and a southern / southwestern theme. I got the bacon biscuit, with egg, and a slice of key lime pie. The biscuit was so starchy, thick, and honestly very delicious. It was hard to chew at times because of the gummy nature of it but again delicious and full of textures. The egg was almost sous vide or poached. It was too overdone for my liking, my yolk was hard. It also came with caramelized bacon. Overall very filling, dense. My partner got the biscuits and gravy, the gravy was sweet, th

My visit here was long overdue; it's been on my Chicago radar for years now. They have a very appealing menu of comfort food; sweet and savory options all look amazing. From what I tried, the quiche had a perfectly buttery and thick crust and everything about it was tasty. Crust that good speaks to how good their pies probably are, even though I didn't try any. Their biscuits also have a perfect, rich, buttery texture that complemented both sweet and savory toppings well. The molasses cookie had a nice subtle spice to it and a soft, rich texture that wasn't too soft.. oh, and it was huge! Two of my friends who had a grits dish and a sausage biscuit rated their meals 8.5 out of 10. It's a smaller space that can seat maybe 20 people inside, but they have more seating outside. With the sample size I had, I have no doubt everything this place serves is great!

Stopped in with a friend for weekend lunch. Short wait to order, and everything came out relatively quick. Really enjoyed the buffalo chicken pot pie! They have a pretty large, nice patio as well for the summertime.
